In 2015, Indonesia had the 6th highest number of engineering, manufacturing, and construction graduates worldwide.

IT, education, manufacturing, construction are the top industries that university graduates want to work in.

But they’re also strong in non-tech fields. Business, commerce and finance, and the social sciences are the most popular fields of study among university students.

High English proficiency of the Indonesia talent pool

Indonesia is ranked #13 in Asia for English proficiency.  In particular, students in Jakarta and Yogyakarta are strong in English.

In the EF English Proficiency Index for Schools (2019), secondary & tertiary students in Jakarta scored 52.58. Students in Yogyakarta scored 54.46. The average score in Asia was 53.
